The Role: Sales Manager – Primary Markets, Research, Sales & Trading Solutions

The Team:

The Primary Markets Solutions business of S&P Global Market Intelligence services the needs of sell-side banks in the primary issuance space, as well as tailored workflow solutions and data intelligence for our buyside clients. Our fixed income and equity book-building software solutions are used by many of the leading banks in globally and MEA region.

Our Research, Sales & Trading Solutions is the industry leader in commission sharing arrangement, research management, and evaluation technology. Our cloud-based platform offers unparalleled efficiency and transparency, allowing asset managers to seamlessly manage and share data while building trend analytics on their research providers and trading relationships.

Our platform also makes it easy for brokers and service providers to track client revenue and payments, so you can focus on what you do best. With Research Manager, you can streamline your commission management processes and make informed decisions based on the data and analytics it provides.

We offer a range of services, including evaluation management, payment management, and reporting and analytics to help you take your commission sharing arrangement, research management, and research evaluation to the next level.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for developing the markets, providing market insights and training, new client acquisition as well as managing and upselling to existing clients within the designated territory.

  • Drive revenue and new client growth within your assigned territory.
  • Provide deep insights and technical support to prospects and customers around global trends
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of new opportunities
  • Work closely and collaborate with the Account Managers to drive lead generation and growth
  • Maintain a high prospecting activity level

What We’re Looking For:

  • Deep domain expertise on the regulatory framework of European markets particularly MIFID II, as well as the global reach of these European and US regulatory frameworks on market participants around the globe
  • Experience working with major sell side and buy side firms globally and providing consulting advice on commission sharing agreements and understanding the research management frameworks
  • Domain expertise in implementation of commission and research management platforms, as well as ongoing training and support for end users and technology teams
  • Extensive experience and success as a new business “hunter”
  • Substantial experience working in the client services or sales selling consultative financial services advisory and market data solutions to the corporations and/or capital markets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets and the financial services industry
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, preferred. CFA or MBA designations are a plus
  • Experience working within different groups and also collaboratively within a multinational matrix organization
  • Proven communication, selling, analytical, negotiation, problem solving and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of utilizing CRM software to track sales opportunities and customer activity
