The Quality Defect Manager is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of engineers to ensure that outgoing product quality meets company standards. This role involves overseeing visual inspection processes to guarantee products adhere to established quality guidelines and specifications. The candidate will develop and implement procedures for identifying and resolving visual defects, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all inspections.
Key responsibilities include addressing and resolving visual quality issues through corrective and preventive actions, collaborating directly with customers to understand their quality requirements, and working with internal engineering teams to enhance defect management processes. The candidate will also oversee compliance with ESD and environmental programs, maintaining cleanroom standards, and staying updated on the latest industry standards and best practices in quality management.
The role requires conducting regular audits to verify adherence to quality standards, providing training for staff on visual defect identification and handling procedures, and maintaining comprehensive quality documentation and manuals. Additionally, the candidate will handle customer inquiries and complaints related to quality issues, ensuring satisfactory resolutions, and work closely with assembly houses to manage visual defect issues and ensure consistent quality across the production process.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree, preferably in chemistry, material science, or microelectronics with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Wafer Fab environment.
- Deep understanding of quality assurance and outgoing quality management systems, with proven experience in managing visual defects.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and ISO9001 standards.
- Knowledge of environmental controls and ESD requirements is advantageous.
