Job Summary
- As a Director of Recreation & Sports, you will oversee and manage the entire operations of our Youth and Fitness & Leisure Departments. You will be fully accountable for the day to day management as well as fulfilment of their strategic goals and ensure that their activities and programs are run within capital and operating budgets.
- You will be required to provide strategic direction and guidance to the Team Leaders of Youth, Gym, Tennis, Squash, Group Fitness, Lifestyle Classes, Pilates, Aquatics and Golf.
- Required to work on weekends and public holidays
Job Responsibilities
· Creating and managing the yearly budget for both operations
· Ensure the smooth running of the Youth and Fitness & Leisure Departments
· Establish, monitor, and evaluate programs and activities to ensure its success and creates an environment that facilitates achievement of strategic outcomes
· Provide extensive frontline support through proactive interaction and problem solving with Members and team members
· Lead and mentor full time team members and contract Personal Trainers, Fitness and Recreation Instructors and Coaches
· Oversee the Departments in areas of recruitment, performance appraisal, career progression and cross training of team members
· Provide timely communication of the Departments’ activities and programs in club emails, club magazine, website, posters, flyers, niche publications and member privileges and other online social media channels and platforms
· Direct and oversee regular trends of both Club industry and the wider hospitality industry for ideas ie trend spotting, survey analysis, etc
· Oversee, implement and upgrade services, equipment and facilities where necessary
· Ensure that the equipment and facilities are well maintained
· Identify areas of improvement and opportunities for new businesses
· Planning and arranging inter-department events and activities
· Chair monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly related Sports & Recreation Committee and Sub-Committee meetings
· Undertake regular competitive market benchmarking where relevant
