We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team and contribute to data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools, and a passion for uncovering actionable insights from complex data sets.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to: Managing Director
- Data Extraction and Transformation:
- Develop and maintain efficient ETL processes to extract data from various sources, including MySQL databases, Excel files, and REST APIs.
- Transform raw data into a structured format suitable for analysis and reporting.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.
- Data Analysis:
- Perform in-depth data analysis using SQL and other statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract relevant data from the MySQL database.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
- Report Automation:
- Automate the generation of manual reports by developing and implementing automated reporting solutions.
- Create and maintain efficient data pipelines to support automated reporting processes. (Tableau Prep Builder preferred)
- Dashboard Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau to visualize complex data and communicate insights effectively.
- Develop high-level management dashboards to provide executive-level overviews of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with business users to create dashboards that meet their specific needs and provide actionable information.
- Data Governance:
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by implementing appropriate data governance practices.
- Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Possess at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Maritime industry.
- Proven experience in data analysis and business intelligence.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (MySQL preferred).
- Experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and modeling concepts.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
