Overview:
The Head Bartender is responsible for overseeing the bar operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, maintaining bar inventory, and leading the bar staff. This role requires a mix of management skills, deep knowledge of beverages, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bar Management:
• Oversee day-to-day bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the bar is stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
2. Staff Supervision:
• Train, supervise, and schedule bar staff.
• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and training as needed.
• Foster a positive work environment and team spirit.
3. Customer Service:
• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any complaints.
• Ensure prompt and efficient service.
4. Drink Preparation:
• Mix and serve drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
• Innovate and create new cocktails and drink specials.
• Ensure consistency and quality in all drinks served.
5. Inventory and Ordering:
• Monitor and manage inventory levels.
• Place orders for bar supplies and manage relationships with suppliers.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and report any discrepancies.
6. Compliance:
• Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of alcohol sales and purchases.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any issues.
Requirements:
1. Experience:
• Proven experience as a bartender, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or head bartender role.
• Experience in managing bar operations and staff.
2. Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
3. Knowledge:
• Understanding of bar management best practices and relevant health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of drink recipes and trends.
