Role: Sustainability Consultant
As a Sustainability Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping organizations develop and implement strategies to achieve their sustainability goals.
Responsibilities will include:
- GHG Emissions Calculation: Calculate Scope 3 GHG emissions, and develop actionable reduction roadmaps aligned with international standards and best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and industry groups, to discuss sustainability challenges and present tailored solutions.
- Sustainability Strategy Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of comprehensive sustainability strategies, including policies and procedures that drive environmental and social governance (ESG) performance.
- Regenerative Agriculture Consultation: Provide expertise in regenerative agriculture practices, helping clients to adopt sustainable farming methods that enhance soil health and biodiversity.
- Sustainability Training and Communication: Develop and deliver training programs for staff and stakeholders to promote sustainability awareness and best practices. Craft clear and compelling communication materials.
- Sustainable Supply Chain Management: Advise on sustainable supply chain practices, including sourcing, procurement, and logistics, to reduce environmental impact.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Native proficiency in both Japanese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skill to liaise with Japanese clients
- Extensive knowledge in sustainability, particularly in GHG emissions, with expertise in global and local policies, reduction measures, and calculation methodologies.
- Understanding of and experience with regenerative agriculture practices.
- Excellent presentation skills and experience in developing training materials.
Nice to have:
- Min. 4 years experience in supporting the sustainability efforts of food companies, both domestically and internationally.
- Background in research and consulting, with a track record of delivering successful sustainability projects.
- Experience with environmental certifications and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, B Corp).
- Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainable business models.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and stay up-to-date with emerging sustainability trends and regulations.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, CDP,T CFD, and others.
