Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a merchandising strategy aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to identify product opportunities.
Product Development
- Collaborate with the design and sales teams to develop new workwear collections.
- Oversee the selection of fabrics, materials, and design elements to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Manage the product development calendar to ensure timely delivery of new products.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Develop and implement inventory control systems to minimize overstock and stockouts.
- Analyze sales data and product performance to make informed decisions on reordering and markdowns.
Vendor and Supplier Relations
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure the best deals and ensure product quality.
- Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance and address any issues that arise.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and mentor the merchandising team, providing guidance and support to achieve team objectives.
- Foster collaboration between departments, including design, production, sales, and marketing, to ensure a cohesive approach to product development and sales.
Qualifications and Skills
- Min. Diploma in any discipline or a related field.
- Several years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the apparel or workwear industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data and market trends.
