Job Summary:
The Compliance and Operations Officer will play a crucial in supporting the compliance and operational functions of the fund management company based in Singapore. This role involves ensuring regulatory compliance with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) guidelines, supporting daily operations, and enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company's operations comply with all relevant MAS regulations and guidelines. Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise management on necessary adjustments.
- Policy Development: Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with MAS standards.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments. Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Incident Management: Investigate compliance breaches or incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, audits, and reports.
- Training and Education: Provide training to employees on compliance-related matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Advisory Role: Serve as an advisor to the management team on compliance issues, including new business initiatives and strategies.
Operations Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings to MAS accurately and on time and keep a record of all compliance and operational activities.
- Operational Support: Assist in the daily operations in the fund aspect, including and not limited to liaising with the fund administrator.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
- Project Management: Support the planning and execution of special projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- File Management: Maintain and keep track of files on the company drive, ensuring that all company documents are well-organized.
- Communication: Facilitate communication between various departments and service providers, ensuring seamless coordination and information flow.
Other Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of HR programs and services, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Lead the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
- Lead organizational development initiatives to enhance team performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations and communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance and operations, preferably in the fund management or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of fund management operations and processes is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ICA, CAMS) are a plus.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin
