Role Description:

The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire logistics operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes. This role involves strategic planning, optimizing logistics processes, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.


Specific Responsibilities:


1. The trainee will be provided an overview of the company’s logistics operations and supply chain. Meet with key team members and departments. Understand company policies and procedures. Detailed overview of the Logistics Operations Manager’s responsibilities. Introduction to current logistics software and systems. Basic training on inventory management and transportation coordination.
2. The trainee will be having hands-on training in warehouse operations. Inventory control techniques and best practices. Use of warehouse management systems (WMS). Overview of transportation modes and logistics. Routing and scheduling of shipments. Compliance with transportation regulations.
3. The trainee will be introduced to lean principles in logistics. Basic Six Sigma tools and techniques for process improvement. Mapping current logistics processes. Identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Implementing process improvements.
4. The trainee to have an overview of end-to-end supply chain management. Understand Supplier relationship management and Demand forecasting and planning.
5. The trainee will be able to identify and mitigate logistics risks. Compliance with international trade regulations.
6. The trainee will undergo training on advanced logistics software (e.g., TMS, ERP). Automation and IoT in logistics. Use data analytics to drive decision-making. Key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics. Reporting tools and techniques.
7. The trainee will learn on effective team management and communication. Conflict resolution and problem-solving. Motivating and developing team members. Developing logistics strategies aligned with business goals. Budgeting and financial management for logistics. Continuous improvement and future planning.
