Job Summary
The Retail Florist will be responsible for assisting customers, managing inventory, and maintaining the overall presentation of our retail space.
A Retail Assistant have an appreciation for floral arrangements and understanding of various flowers, plants and design techniques and be able to do simple bouquets and arrangements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting and actively listening to customer needs, offering expert advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Process transactions accurately using the POS system and handle cash and credit card payment
- Create simple floral arrangements based on customer preferences and requests, while ensuring quality and design aesthetics
- Knowledge of different flowers, plants and foliage, including their seasonal availability, care requirements and suitability for different arrangements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail space, including arranging displays and ensuring all products are properly labelled and priced
- Managed inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, liaising with Purchasing Department for the ordering of supplies as needed and ensuing freshness of floral products
- Collaborate with team members to execute promotional events and other retail initiatives to drive sales and enhance customer engagement
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations including proper handling and disposal of floral materials and use of protective equipment
Requirement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Previous experience working as florist a retail environment preferred
- Team player with positive mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
- Experience in handling POS system and sales transaction
- Required to work weekends, holiday and extended hours during peak seasons
