As a Level 2 Network and Systems IT Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's network infrastructure and systems. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network components, as well as providing technical support to ensure smooth operations across various systems and platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking principles, experience in system administration, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Infrastructure Management:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software components including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular network audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and security threats.
2. System Administration:
- Manage and administer servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and security compliance.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and systems.
3. Technical Support:
- Provide level 2 technical support to end-users, resolving network and system-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
4. Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Network Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.).
- Proficiency in system administration tasks on Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and end-users.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, MCSA, or RHCSA.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation tasks.
