Job Description
1. To lead Production Engineering Section to accomplish productivity and quality objectives in line with Management’s direction on profitability, shorten lead time and high customers’ product satisfaction
2. To lead Production Engineering Section on the investigation on production issues, to analysis and lead the Section on corrective countermeasures
3. To perform advisory role to Machinery and Assembly Production Section on the correct & known methods and practices. To improvising correct methodologies, tooling & fixtures and procedures in sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly and final test process
4. To perform advisory roles to Production Engineering Section on projects and operational matters
5. To spearhead new technologies integration, digitalisation and automation strategies, improving production quality, productivity and energy efficient. Elevating Singapore factory into a role model on machine & tooling production facilities site
6. To spearhead new machinery and equipment investment plans for capability improvement, capacity growth and logistics automation renewal
7. To guide, improvise correct methodology, tooling & fixtures and procedures on new model start-up in machining, assembly and final test process
8. Responsible for cost control and cost down of machine production for higher profitability
9. To act as technical interface with Japan HQ on engineering related matters
10. To prepare and submit relevant reporting documentation in Japanese, to Japan HQ
Job Requirements
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with at least 7 years of relevant working experience
· Possess extensive experience in machine tools industry and specializing in machining center and lathe technology
· Possess deep knowledge of metal cutting and machine tool operation in manufacturing environment
· Demonstrable experience leading global, cross-functional teams
· Knowledgeable of project tracking and understanding of project governance and reporting
· Total Quality Management and Change Management experience
· Possess in-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing and/ or other quality and process improvement tools
· Possess strong knowledge and mastery of 2D and 3D CAD, SolidWorks software, etc.
· Demonstrates critical thinking skills by questioning information and challenging assumptions
· Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks and projects
· Takes initiative and responsibility for achieving results, approaching work with a proactive mindset
· Views success as a team effort and readily contributes to a collaborative environment
· Knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings, PLCs, etc.
· Japanese Language Proficiency Level of JLPT N1 or equivalent level for writing & conversational skills (including terminology in engineering fields) to communicate with Japan Headquarters and counterparts
· Candidates are expected to work longer hour, depending on the tasks commitment and project timeline
