The Role
We are embarking on a number of changes across our business and need an experienced Infrastructure IT Specialist to join the existing team to support and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure.
As a Senior Infrastructure IT Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support during APAC business hours, ensuring the stability, reliability, and security of our IT systems. This role requires a strong technical background in infrastructure management, project support, and incident resolution.
Key Duties
• Provide timely resolution of infrastructure incidents during APAC time zone, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on IT infrastructure components, including servers, VMware, storage, and backups, to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Offer technical expertise and support during the implementation phase of IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments, to ensure successful project delivery and minimal disruption to operations
• Provide advanced support for business-critical applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compatibility with underlying infrastructure components
• Serve as a subject matter expert in infrastructure technologies, providing guidance to junior team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standards
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures, and generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and maintenance activities
• Proactively identify opportunities to optimize and enhance IT infrastructure, processes, and workflows, leveraging automation and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Identify opportunities to improve application support processes, and infrastructure configurations, and implementing automation, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and user experience.
• Monitor and analyse application usage patterns and infrastructure resource utilization, identifying capacity constraints and planning for future growth and scalability to support business requirements.
• Handle small to medium scale IT Infrastructure Projects and provide global support during critical project go-lives such as Unify.
• Provide weekend support during technology maintenance activities and perform business application validations after each maintenance
Qualifications, Expertise and Attributes
• Minimum 10 years of strong experience in IT Infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in Windows, Linux, VMware, data backup and storage systems such as NetApp
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Power shell, Python. Etc
• Strong application domain knowledge
• Familiarity with server hardware platforms such as HPE and Dell servers and experience with Windows AD and Group policy management.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and develop practical solutions
• Solid understanding of the importance of and adherence to Technology Risk Management standards and security
• Familiar with server patching and vulnerability management process
• Knowledge and exposure to MS365, Cloud, Exchange, SQL Server, Data Centre and Security is preferred
• Familiarity with incident and change management will be beneficial
• Expert planning, control and monitoring skills
• Proven communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at executive and senior leadership levels
• Extensive experience managing global stakeholders and partnering with multiple 3rd party vendors
• Education to degree level or equivalent relevant industry experience
