The Transformation Manager will oversee the establishment and operationalization of a new State of the Art powertrain gear manufacturing site, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful deployment of cutting-edge processes, equipment, and systems. This role requires a visionary leader capable of aligning cross-functional teams and resources to achieve ambitious project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, state-of-the-art tooling, and innovative systems, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic vision.
- Goal Setting and Achievement: Define and establish transformation objectives and team goals that align with the broader organizational strategy, driving project success and operational excellence.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular and comprehensive updates to executive leadership on the progress of transformation initiatives, ensuring transparency and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Budget Management: Oversee and manage budgets for the transformation team, equipment acquisition, and tooling, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion efforts to identify and implement opportunities for manufacturing process enhancements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Equipment Deployment: Lead the identification, evaluation, and deployment of essential equipment necessary to achieve project goals, ensuring seamless integration into the manufacturing environment.
- Tooling Standardization: Drive initiatives to standardize tooling and minimize setup times, enhancing productivity and reducing operational downtime.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the transition team to synchronize schedules and processes, ensuring smooth integration of new systems into the overall transition plan.
- Plant Layout Optimization: Spearhead the design and development of the plant layout, optimizing workspace utilization and product flow for maximum efficiency.
- Systems Development: Lead the creation and implementation of advanced shopfloor control systems and software, including the establishment of a paperless factory system, to enhance operational control and data accuracy.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to prescribed work rules and safety standards, fostering a safe and compliant working environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Engineering) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing or operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale transformation projects.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, systems, and modern manufacturing technologies. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and inspiring cross-functional teams. Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and financial planning for large-scale projects. Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to executive leadership and various stakeholders.
