Microsoft Power BI Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Power BI Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics and visualization, with a particular focus on using Power BI to create insightful and impactful business dashboards.

This role will involve working closely with various departments to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering high-quality BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dashboard Development:Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
   Create visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards to meet business needs.
   Ensure dashboards are optimized for performance and user experience.
   
2. Data Integration and Management:Connect data sources, import, transform, and model data to create robust data sets for Power BI.
   Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
   Implement and manage row-level security and application security layer models in Power BI.
   
3. ETL Processes:Design and implement ETL processes to collect data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
   Automate ETL processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
   Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
   
4. Collaboration and Communication:Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
   Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate systems and optimize data workflows.
   Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and dashboards.
   
5. Documentation and Reporting:Document data models, ETL processes, and dashboard designs.
   Maintain technical documentation and user guides.
   Generate reports and conduct analyses to support business decision-making.
   
6. Continuous Improvement:Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Power BI and related technologies.
   Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in BI development.
   Administer BI governance framework and manage service requests for publishing Power BI reports.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Power BI Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
• Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and database management systems.
• Proficient in SQL and experience with data integration tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView
