Job Description
Practical Lesson Preparation
- Assist teacher in the preparation of ingredients prior to the start of the practical lessons.
- Assist teacher in placing order for foodstuff and ingredients
- Assist in the setting up and cleaning of food lab equipment and utensils
Stock Check
- Replace broken glassware from stock and be responsible for all equipment used in the teaching of Food & Consumer Education / Nutrition Food Science Practical Lessons.
- Keep a stock book / excel stock sheet and breakage record to indicate necessary replacements
- Prepare an inventory of stocks annually for the annual stock take exercise
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Maintain and upkeep food lab equipment including stoves, ovens and other cooking equipment
- Responsible for the general cleanliness and safety of the food lab
Student Supervision
- Supervise students in the food lab during the absence of the teacher (e.g. emergency toilet break)
Admin Duties
- Ensure goods delivered are as per order
- Help to keep notice board up to date (Use Microsoft word to create new signs and labels)
- During School holidays and curriculum downtime, the personnel may be asked to help out with any other duties as and when assigned.
- In the event of downtime during the FCE curriculum, The Food Lab
Technician will be deployed to assist in the General Office or any other
areas required.
