Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
Develop and implement strategic logistics plans aligned with the overall global logistics strategy.
Identify opportunities for optimization and cost-effective solutions across the European region while ensuring the global network is whole.
Network Management
Oversee and optimize freight logistics network in Europe, ensuring efficient transportation goods within the region and globally.
Collaborate with local and international carriers to enhance service quality and reliability.
Continuous Improvements
Manage and control logistics spend for the European region, while seeking opportunities for continuous operational efficiency improvements.
Drive continuous improvements initiatives in logistics processes, seeking operational excellence and supply chain resilience.
Encourage a culture of innovation and adaptability with the logistics team.
Compliance and Regulations
Ensure compliance with international and regional regulations governing freight transportations while collaborating with the Global Trade Compliance and Trade Operations teams.
Stay informed about changes in trade policies, customs procedures, and transportation regulations affecting the European logistics landscape.
Performance Metrics
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operation in Europe while collaborating with the Global Freight team for consistency across the network.
Leverage resources within company to achieve this.
Risk Management
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruption in transportation, customs, or other logistical challenges.
Ensure business continuity plans are in place for unforeseen events.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, trade compliance and Company businesses to align logistics strategies with business goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including carriers, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Leverage carrier partners to build relationships.
Technology Integration
Implement and leverage advanced logistics technologies for real-time tracking, route optimization, and data analytics while in collaboration with the Global Freight team. Identify and adopt innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and visibility of freight operations.
Team Leadership
Lead and inspire a diverse logistics team. Although, this is an individual contributor role, many dotted Company stakeholders and resources will need support from a subject matter expert in freight operations.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to the team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or similar
Minimum 6 years’ experience in logistics related position
Proven experience in global freight and logistics management
Proficient working with various ERP & TMS systems, including database knowledge – e.g. eProcure, GTS, SAP, ARGO, Ariba, Snowflake to name a few
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
International logistics network experience a plus
Experience with supply chain optimization models and analysis
Project management
Strong communications and negotiating skills
Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures
Strong computer and financial assessment and modeling skills
