- Responsible for the day to day facilities and maintenance operations of building infrastructure.
- Facilitate and ensure contractors/vendors complete repair and maintenance work to required timelines and standards including capital improvement projects which contributes to the Institute’s mission by providing quality estates management solutions and services to all departments, staff and members/students of the Institute.
- Attend to feedback from staff, tenants and general public.
- Assist in project management role during the design, tender, construction and postconstruction stages of the projects.
- Assist in conducting technical review of each consultant’s proposals to ensure design is optimal, fit-for-purpose, within the approved budget and that it meets the aspirations and goals of SIM.
- Coordinate, supervise and assist in major renovations, additions and alterations works, capital replacement works and the like to successful completion.
- Track construction progress and anticipate critical issues, potential problems, risks and alert the manager on necessary actions and recovery plans.
- Coordinate work as necessary with other departments to minimize inconvenience to students/seminar participants, safety problems and operating expenses.
- Generally, take the lead to source for quotations from contractors for major and minor capital infrastructures/building improvement works, get approval from superiors and supervise work when assigned.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Facility Management, Estate Management with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of building operations, maintenance and renovation practices and related authority requirements.
- Self-driven, resourceful and team player with proven supervisory skills.
- Good analytical, communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
- Result oriented in a fast pace and multi-task environment.
