Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing.
- Prepare simple dishes under the supervision of the head chef.
- Assist in the preparation of sauces, soups, salads, and desserts.
Cooking Assistance:
- Aid in cooking and plating dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Monitor and maintain food quality and presentation.
Kitchen Hygiene and Safety:
- Ensure all kitchen areas are clean and sanitized, following food safety regulations.
- Wash and store kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
- Properly store and label ingredients and prepared foods.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the head chef.
- Ensure proper rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
