Job Summary
· Manage, direct, and coordinate the activities of the workshop
· Plan and schedule all production activities including material planning, external services like galvanization, material treatment, fabrication schedule and liaise with site project teams on logistic and delivery
Duties/Responsibilities
Managing and overseeing the production & site operation
1. To be in charge of planning & scheduling of fabrication activities for steel structure and metal works (both internally and with external service providers)
2. To work closely with fabrication manager.
3. To coordinate with design and project team for shop drawing/fabrication drawing
4. To arrange for materials procurement
5. Work closely with Engineering and QAQC to meet quality.
6. Work closely with procurement dept. for on time delivery of material for fabrication
7. Ensure correct order of fabrication materials
8. Work closely with the supply chain management for the machineries and tools usage
9. Plan efficiently for the manpower usage
10. Minimize material wastage
11. Coordination with site project teams on logistic and delivery details
12. Coordinate with external service providers ( ie galvanization, painting, special treatment etc ) on timely delivery
Prepare risk management plan
1. Plan in advance for any emergency issue
2. Ensure on time delivery to customers/operation
3. Check and ensure the design drawing is accurate before fabrication to avoid re -work
4. Ensure sufficient manpower & material are available at all times
Administer Workplace Safety and health (WSH) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
1. Ensure workers/sub-contractor wear full PPE items and comply with the company safety/ Environmental regulation
2. Work closely with Safety dept. to ensure safety/ environmental compliance
Organise and transfer fabricated products to projects operation department for site installation
1. To coordinator with project team for delivery schedule
2. Ensure on time & quality delivery to clients/sites/operation
3. Liaise with Supply Chain dept. to deliver the products to clients/site
Manage a team with good technical knowledge, scheduling and planning
1. To arrange and deploy manpower to each activities for fabrication works
2. Build and train a competent technical team
3. Set up a quality control process within the fabrication dept.
4. Work with Engineering Services Dept. to innovate fabrication design.
