Our client, a global commodity trading house, is looking to hire a Trading Operator for their dry bulk division. The role involves handling day-to-day operations for bulk commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day operations for bulk commodities.
- Optimize trader strategies by leveraging product movement, external relationships, and managing transport issues with traders.
- Handle sales and purchase contracts, L/C, and other cargo and trading documents
- Manage cargo inventory and operations, coordinating with ports, agents, and inspectors, and adhering to international legal restrictions on vessels, trucks, and rail for shipments.
- Liaise with the Trader, Finance, and Risk departments for smooth operations.
- Serve as the contact for team issues and disputes. Join team meetings to resolve operational problems. Provide coverage as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime study or any related field with 2-year experience in Dry bulk operations
- Familiarity with trading software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
