Job Description
Purpose of job:
Assist with deliverables for statutory and home office reporting disclosures. Ensure timely delivery of financial, management and regulatory reports to internal and external stakeholders, including ACRA and MAS. Support with any ad-hoc projects.
Main Responsibilities:
Up to date & Changes:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, MAS and local GAAP reporting rules, regulations and changes.
Identify and support changes in financial reporting systems, processes, and reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Main Duties
- Ensure all regulatory returns are prepared accurately and in compliance with local reporting requirements which includes ACRA and MAS related submission.
- Co-ordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual closings of financials with Technical Accounting and Finance Operations
- Review closing journals and entries for accuracy, conduct thorough financial analysis and ensuring consistency with budget expectations and reforecasts.
- Coordinate with the tax agent for all the necessary tax submissions.
- Coordinate and support annual audit activities by ensuring timely preparation of Financial Statements and supporting schedules. Facilitate communication and information exchange between external auditors and internal teams.
- Assist in resolving audit queries and ensuring compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.
Others
- Assist in enhancing finance reporting workflow by identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined processes.
- Assist the manager and CFO with all ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Serve as a backup for the manager.
Experience
- At least 4 years working in accounting and finance in insurance company.
- 1 year or more working on IFRS17 reporting and implementation.
- Overall, 4 years working in the insurance industry, including but not necessarily in an audit firm.
Good to Have
- Primary expertise within general insurance industry
- Experience working in MNCs/Auditing Firms
- Knowledge of SunAccount
