Job Title: General Manager

Reports to: Director


Position Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

Arctic Fitness is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our fitness center. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the business and memberships, coaching clients, managing daily operations, strategizing marketing initiatives, fostering collaborations and partnerships, recruiting staff, and other duties as assigned. The General Manager will ensure the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence while driving growth and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Building Business and Memberships:

- Develop and implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.

- Create membership packages and promotions to drive sales.

- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.


2. Coaching for Clients:

- Provide direct coaching and personal training to clients as needed.

- Ensure the delivery of high-quality fitness programs tailored to various client needs.

- Oversee the development and performance of the coaching staff.


3. Operations of the Space:

- Manage day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning of the fitness center.

- Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.

- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).


4. Marketing and Strategy:

- Design and execute marketing plans to increase brand awareness and drive membership sales.

- Utilize digital marketing, social media, and traditional marketing channels effectively.

- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.


5. Collaboration and Partnerships:

- Establish and nurture relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

- Develop and implement partnership programs to benefit members and enhance the brand’s presence.


6. Recruitment:

- Lead the recruitment process for all staff, including trainers, administrative personnel, and support staff.

- Develop job descriptions, conduct interviews, and onboard new employees.

- Ensure continuous staff development and training.


7. Leadership and Other Duties:

- Provide visionary leadership to the team, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.

- Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback and coaching.

- Handle any other responsibilities as required to support the success of Arctic Fitness.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the fitness industry.

- Proven track record in business development and membership growth.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

- Proficiency in marketing strategies and digital marketing tools.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
