The Commercial Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving the global commercial success of the ship management company. This involves developing and implementing commercial strategies, identifying and securing new business opportunities in international markets, optimizing vessel utilization, and maximizing profitability within the ship management sector. The role requires a deep understanding of the global shipping industry, strong business acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with ship owners and other key stakeholders across different regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies tailored to the ship management sector, aligning with the company's global growth goals and objectives.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of international markets to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks specific to ship management services.
- Analyze financial performance data to assess profitability of managed vessels across different regions, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions.
- Develop and maintain competitive pricing models for ship management services in various markets, ensuring optimal revenue generation while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, technical, and crew management teams, to optimize vessel utilization, performance, and cost efficiency on a global scale.
International Business Development & Client Management:
- Proactively identify and pursue new ship management contracts in international markets, targeting potential clients and expanding the company's global portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners across different regions, fostering trust and identifying opportunities for upselling additional services or securing long-term contracts.
- Lead negotiations and finalize commercial agreements with international ship owners, including ship management agreements, technical management agreements, and crew management agreements.
- Represent the company at international industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities focused on ship management to promote services and build global brand awareness.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the ship management industry, with a proven track record in international commercial management and business development.
- Deep understanding of ship management operations, technical aspects, crew management, and global market dynamics.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with ship owners and other stakeholders across different cultures.
