Position Overview: As a Bar Hostess, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests at the bar. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and ensure that everyone has a pleasant and enjoyable experience. You will work closely with the bar staff to maintain service quality and uphold the bar’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
- Manage seating arrangements, including reservations and walk-ins, ensuring efficient guest flow.
- Provide guests with information about the bar’s menu, specials, and promotions.
- Assist guests in finding seating and ensure they are comfortable.
- Coordinate with bartenders and servers to ensure prompt service and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and surrounding spaces.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.
- Assist in managing private events and special functions as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of bar offerings, including drinks, cocktails, and food pairings.
- Foster a positive and friendly environment for both guests and staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably as a hostess or in a bar/restaurant setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine is preferred.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Must be of legal drinking age.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with reservation management systems or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Certification in Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) or equivalent training.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a busy, dynamic environment.
