Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Operations:
- Reporting on insurance cover arrangements, premiums, and recoveries.
- Liaising with brokers for documentation, coverage issues, hull claims, and policy renewals.
- Preparing reports for insurance renewals and coordinating insurance program placements.
- Handling insurance queries and exploring additional cover options.
Contract Insurance Reviews:
- Reviewing policy wordings and contracts to ensure coverage aligns with terms.
- Proposing amendments and arranging additional insurance as needed.
Claims Handling:
- Filing and notifying claims to brokers/underwriters.
- Maximizing claim recoveries by working with stakeholders.
Business Partnering:
- Training stakeholders on timely submission of potential insurance claims.
Data Analysis and Loss Prevention:
- Identifying loss trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Reporting on claims trends and liaising with Average Adjustors for specific claims.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3-5 years in the insurance industry, familiarity with shipping industry insurance policies added advantage.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; well-versed in insurance terms and conditions; organized, team player, problem solver, and adaptable.
