We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our client in the healthcare industry on a 12-months project.
This position, embedded within the PMO team, demands a deep understanding of firewall technologies, cyber security, and network architecture. You'll design and optimize firewall rule structures, manage third-party connections, and ensure robust network security. Ideal candidates will be proactive, innovative thinkers who can independently navigate complex network requirements and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
The Role
- Provide technical leadership and consultation relating to the network security scope and share best practices.
- Understand the high-level design and ensure that the network security design meets the project requirements.
- Act as SME to identify the key tasks and activities required from a network security perspective to fulfill the project requirements and provide inputs to project schedules.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete including the design documentation (HLD, LLD), change templates to support configuration changes, slides and diagrams for the project, and any other documentation necessary for all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Review firewall rules, validate security profiles, and propose the best approach to drive the project outcomes.
- Review and validate all the assumptions, dependencies, and risks associated with the proposed changes to the network and security environment.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, principles, baselines, and guidelines.
- Review runbooks and ensure that the detailed configuration and scripts deliver against the high-level design, low-level design, and fulfill the objectives of the project.
- Produce and execute test plans.
- Ensure changes are peer-reviewed where required and outline risks and mitigation plans.
- Create and submit all changes to CAB for approval.
- Support migration activities across all the in-scope locations.
- · Create handover documentation and facilitate handover sessions for knowledge sharing as part of project deliverables.
- Manage and resolve any incident tickets that arise from project changes and any ad hoc tickets that are assigned that contribute towards targeted SLA.
- Handover activities to operational teams for business continuity.
- Work with all internal and external teams to drive project tasks to completion and to drive project objectives.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Expertise in firewall products and technologies, particularly Fortinet and Checkpoint.
- Advanced networking skills in switching and routing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure, including Routing, Switching, Wireless/VoIP technology, on-premise data centers, cloud environments, and end-user compute.
- Minimum of 5 years in network security, design, implementation, and support.
- Experience with network security architecture and operational support of networking or network security services.
- Familiarity with cyber security, risk management, and compliance frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
