Purpose and Scope
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for driving the company's sustainability agenda by developing and implementing effective strategies across business units. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of sustainability principles and metrics. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the company's sustainability goals and contribute to the overall business success.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Sustainability Roadmap Development:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's sustainability roadmap.
- Conduct regular assessments of sustainability master plan targets and green certifications.
- Evaluate new investments and asset enhancement initiatives for alignment with sustainability goals
KPI Development and Tracking:
- Utilize operational and GHG data to establish, manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sustainability performance.
- Monitor and report on sustainability performance against established targets.
Sustainability Project Management:
- Lead the successful implementation of sustainability initiatives across business units.
- Manage assigned business unit accounts, overseeing the implementation of the urban sustainability roadmap.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
GHG Emissions Management:
- Oversee GHG emissions data collection and reporting for assigned business units.
- Participate in the overall Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions assessment, target setting, and tracking.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze sustainability data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Prepare comprehensive sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate sustainability initiatives and achievements to various audiences.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience of at least 10 years in sustainability management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and functions.
- Knowledge of GHG emissions accounting and reporting standards.
- Experience in urban sustainability planning and implementation.
- Understanding of financial analysis and business case development.
