Job Responsibilities
- The engineer will be on boarded in the middleware team and primarily working with WAS – Web and Application Servers and MQ Series Team. We manage the global production services and project management for the scope covering JBoss/WILDFLY, Websphere, Tomcat, Jetty, IIS and MQ Series.
- Global production service operations support in middleware technologies and platforms
- Accountable on the overall service reliability, availability and stability of the technical scopes
- Provide technical expert support for managed workloads, including analyzing and resolving incidents, problem, service request and change process management
- Partner with the development, project and business teams to understand requirements and technical specifications to participate in project deliverables activities
- Drive through culture of continuous improvements for the production environment through automation or manual work and performance hygiene
- Technical analysis of production platforms to identify and remediate performance issues
- Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Engage in several DevOps disciplines, namely CI/CD, Continuous Test, Continuous Monitoring, and Continuous Compliance
- Operation and further development of middleware platforms and the associated interfaces
- Development of self-service interfaces and their workflows
- Exercise specialist responsibility in strategic projects and initiatives
Work Schedule:
Required to work on Paris and/or New York and/or Asia time zone*, i.e. 2pm to 11pm/4pm to 1am (summer season) or 3pm to 12am/ 5pm to 2am (winter season), or in accordance to the planned time schedule as required. If necessary, you may also be required to start work earlier or to extend working hours.
May be required to be available for on-call support during non-business hours and/or on weekends. Allowance is claimable for such hours.
Job Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in any of these faculties: Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Programming & Systems Analysis/ Science (Computer Studies)
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in the following technical platforms:
- Middleware Technologies: Websphere, Jboss, Wildfly, Tomcat, Apache, Kafka
- Messaging: IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ (Good to have)
- Operating Systems: Linux, Unix and/or Windows
- Monitoring and Data analytics tools: Nagios, OMI, ServiceNow, Geneos
- Scripting tools: Java, Unix Shell, Bash, Python, PowerShell
- Good understanding of ITIL Service Management framework such as Incident, Problem, and Change processes
- Experience in one or more of the following technical platforms: Docker/Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Elastic Search, Rundeck, GIT
- DevOps engineering experience
