What we are looking for:
The Blackpanda Finance team plays a crucial role in providing strategic financial support to the leadership team, maintaining the integrity of the financial accounts, custody of Blackpanda’s assets, and fostering transparent, accurate, and timely information.
Blackpanda seeks a Finance Manager who is not just adept in number-crunching but is a strategic thinker, capable of steering the company's financial health toward sustained growth. This role demands an individual who can confidently own the financial accounts, ensure compliance, and manage risks, all while providing valuable financial insights that influence key business decisions.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, have a strong Finance and accounting background and relevant certifications, will be required to work cross-functionally and collaboratively, and provide independent viewpoints to senior leaders as required. You will be pivotal in building and nurturing a proficient team that not only manages day-to-day financial operations but also aligns financial strategies with Blackpanda’s dynamic growth objectives. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the financial processes and systems, driving efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee financial reporting systems to ensure compliance with local standards, Group policies under IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead year-end audit processes for Group entities, collaborating with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate secretarial agents.
- Drive annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, aligning financial strategies with strategic planning initiatives.
- Compile quarterly and annual financial reports for investor Board decks, emphasizing key business metrics and performance analysis.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic planning efforts.
- Enhance internal controls, financial systems, and processes to ensure financial reporting accuracy and governance.
- Proficient in cash flow management and forecasting to meet liquidity requirements.
- Conduct financial planning and analysis to support C-suite decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Present financial reports to senior management, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to long-term financial modeling and business planning to support growth objectives.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancements.
- Prepare financial presentations for board meetings and investor relations.
- Liaise with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, or a recognised professional accounting qualification (i.e. CA, CPA or ACCA or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting or audit experience
- Minimum 3 years of end-to-end ownership of financial processes for an organization
- Strong project management skills to drive projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight timelines
- Excels in a fast-paced environment and has strong communication skills and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, laws, and any other compliance requirements
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Xero and other accounting software
