As the APAC Innovation Team Lead, you will be leading a team in driving the overall partnering and innovation process, from opportunity identification, business case development, scouting, and selection of candidates, collaboration model validation, and deal negotiations to alliance management. You will work closely with Regional Business teams and local affiliates to ensure innovation projects can be delivered on time with high quality. You will keep abreast with healthcare innovation trends to shape and drive the APAC innovation priorities, pipeline and OKRs together with regional cross-functional teams. This requires seamless management of key client/partner relationships, including maximizing value proposition, ensuring compliance and managing all technical and non-technical aspects of alliances.
The Opportunity
- Own the overall Innovation ambition and the 3 year roadmap that complement and strengthen the current Roche Diagnostics portfolio to deliver greater value to patients and customers in APAC as well as incubating and experimenting in new areas to generate new revenue streams.
- Lead a group of innovators to drive e2e innovation program management - identify opportunity, develop business case, scout, select, and manage solution / partners along the current product portfolio based on APAC needs and trends (i.e. assay development, instrument platform, digital solution, business model innovation) to complement Roche offering as well as to generate new revenue streams.
- Develop and maintain a robust innovation pipeline balancing long term impact and short term delivery
- Champion and scale suitable affiliate innovation initiatives across borders by architecting, coaching and driving implementation with tangible results impacting business outcomes
- Stay abreast of overall healthcare innovation trends and inspire new opportunities with deep understanding of external evolving IVD healthcare landscape, proactive outreach to build relationships with potential partners and ensure the proper fit between partners and core portfolio.
- Leading Alliance Management to conduct regular business review, negotiate annual business plan, monitor sales & marketing events with partners
- Channel suitable APAC innovation to Global Partnering
- Collaborate effectively with Value Streams, Affiliate / Global Innovation teams, Global Partnering, as well as other regional Business Development teams
Who you are
- You should hold a Bachelor Degree or Masters in Innovation Management or related field with a minimum 15 years of experience in life science sector, directly comparable to Diagnostics in the APAC region is an advantage
- Deep experience/knowledge about the healthcare ecosystem with a fluency in common business models and knowledge of the competitive landscape
- Strong direct commercial experience with a solid understanding of the IVD industry
- Proven experience in healthcare Innovation Management with e2e process execution from opportunity assessment, scouting, evaluating, piloting to scaling innovation opportunities.
- Strong leadership experience, preferably with experience leading diverse team and/or highly complex matrix leadership of enterprise-level projects
