Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead efforts to leverage, define or refine data governance frameworks, including data quality standards, metadata management, data lineage, and data classification.
- Support respective Data Governance Committee in overseeing data-related initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Partner with business units and IT teams to assess data management needs, identify data quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure data governance practices adhere to local law and regulatory guidelines (such as data protection, customer protection etc.) and mitigate data-related risks.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of data governance professionals, fostering a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
- Drive initiatives to improve data literacy across the organization and promote awareness of data governance principles and practices.
- Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and technologies to support data management and compliance efforts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Min. 8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related roles within the financial services industry, and at least 2 years in a leadership position will be a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and industry standards (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank).
- Proven experience developing and implementing data governance strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across organizational levels.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including experience leading and developing teams.
- Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) will be a plus.
