We are looking for a suitable Assistant Director, Communications candidate to fulfill this undertaking for our social service agency (SSA).
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the individual is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the Agency's communication strategies and associated work plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Subject matter expert and professional lead for the authority on maintaining the brand and profile of the Agency.
- Conduct research and evaluation so that communications activity is effective and responsive to the needs of stakeholders and audience.
- Manage and create multi-cultural and relevant content for all the Agency's main communications channels including social media and official websites.
- Direct the delivery of proactive external campaigns and public relations activity.
- Develop a comprehensive digital engagement strategy for diverse stakeholders, incorporating film, photography, animation, and other communication mediums.
- Lead the delivery of a robust media relations service that fosters strong, positive relationships with journalists and the public.
- Oversees and implement reputation management communication strategies.
- Create a consistent approach to horizon scanning to better inform and shape communications efforts and achieve organizational priorities.
- Guide the implementation of a strategic internal communications program to facilitate change management and address major internal issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 years working experience in any of the following: public relations, marketing, corporate communications, communications consultancy or journalism
- Excellent command of all aspects of the English language, both verbal and written communication.
- Fluency in Mandarin/Tamil/Bengali, is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, creative, presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong media relations and management
- Experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud products
- Passionate about working with marginalized populations and community service

Sun Ray is a centralised scheme administered by NCSS to develop individuals who have strong leadership qualities to lead professional practices and agencies in the social service sector.To enable a holistic development. there will be structured rotation across social service agencies in different sub-sectors to provide individuals with cross-organisational exposure and support. The exposure will enable those on the Sun Ray to develop broader sector perspectives and gain deep sector knowledge to help the social service agencies that they are deployed to build capabilities and capacity.
