Position Overview
The Service Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in the successful execution of projects, including GIS and Transformers Modernization, Upgrades, and Extensions. This role serves as the first and second point of contact for projects and interfaces with various Energy entities involved in electrification.
An ideal candidate will have experience managing vendors, supporting Field Service Personnel, coordinating factory operations, leading project activities, collaborating across departments, and handling operational logistics. The role also involves close cooperation with the Sales and Bid team during bid preparations in line with Project Excellence (PE) standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Support all phases of GT SV (Grid Technology Services) projects from start to finish, ensuring overall project performance.
- Thoroughly review and understand project agreements, specifications, scope of work, budgets, and allowances before starting projects.
- Monitor and execute defined work packages/projects within set requirements (e.g., safety, budget, schedule) and provide regular updates to the team, management, and PMO during project review meetings.
- Interface with global operations, engineering, and factories to resolve technical issues in ongoing projects and site works.
- Ensure business success and customer satisfaction through professional stakeholder management.
- Be familiar with contract change processes and the invoicing/final closure of projects.
- Investigate and recommend ways to localize scope, improve processes, and grow the business.
- Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements, specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms for new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited university or college is preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in an Engineering Role or as a Site/Field Service Technical Expert, with 1-2 years of electrical installation and/or construction project management experience being beneficial.
- Relevant training in Project Management and experience in project execution and bid preparation is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in the High Voltage transmission industry are beneficial.
- Positive attitude towards working in a challenging environment and embracing a high-performance culture.
- Ability to understand and effectively manage cultural differences.
- Strong proficiency in IT tools, including Microsoft Office.
- Clear and professional communication skills in English (written and verbal); additional Asian languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel within Singapore and Brunei.
