Quality Engineering and Testing Lead
Responsibility
· Defining Test Plan and Strategy and Testing activities for test engineers.
· Perform Test Design and develop Test Cases and Scenarios.
· Ensure Test Coverage and Requirement Traceability for the Systems/Applications under the Test.
· To check if the team has all necessary resources to execute testing activities.
· To ensure testing is going hand in hand with the software development in all phases.
· To prepare status reports of all testing activities.
· Required interaction with customers and stakeholders.
· Perform periodic review and presentation to the project stakeholders.
Job Description
· Should have BSCS knowledge to work with Solution designers and developer to define test strategy and testing scope.
· To identify integration points between BSS application specially BSCS, mediation and network and CRM.
· Strong hands-on experience in Telecom Billing, Rating and Usage Processing and testing in these domain areas.
· Implementing rigorous testing processes to minimize bugs and ensure system stability during software versions upgrade.
· To understand end to end order provisioning for a telecom business and prepare strategy to identify impacted areas and plan for testing.
· Solid experience in testing cloud-based applications and integration testing between cloud and on-premise applications.
· Technically guide the team and explain Billing functionalities and its usage in overall BSS stack.
· Understand and mentor the team and help them understand overall telecom functions from customer onboarding till customer service, billing, rating, payments, collection and dunning.
· To identify the scope of the testing required for a release based on the requirements /design document.
· To design and review testing scenarios and test cases for projects and based on the project design to ensure adequate coverage and control
· Identify the tools for Test Reporting, Test Management etc. and educate the team on how to use those tools.
· To plan knowledge transfer sessions if required to the team members for the tools that they would use.
· To ensure test teams raise defects wherever necessary and follow up with development team for closure and progress of test case.
· Ensure test scenarios are executed by test engineers and review progress.
· To monitor test progress and identify any delays / risk that could be an hinderance, check if there might be any delays in achieving the schedule and hold discussions with testers to troubleshoot and debug the issues with the relevant stakeholders and drive it for closure.
· Plan and conduct regular meetings to review the progress and test execution status.
· Present the timely status to the stakeholders & management and instil confidence about the work being done.
· Prepare any Risk Mitigation plans if in case any delays are foreseen.
· Providing management reporting on test progress, test outcomes, success rates, issues and risks.
Requirement and Qualification:
· Experience of 8-10 years in the software testing field.
· Must have Experience in Telecom Billing Applications in Provisioning, Billing, Rating, Payments and Usage Processing.
· Should possess skills in SQL, PL SQL.
· Should have experience working in onsite-offshore model and managing team at different geographical location.
· Bachelor / master’s in computer science or engineering.
· Knowledge of Testing Techniques should have worked in testing roles earlier and well versed with testing techniques.
· Strong IT experience in cloud-based applications and understanding of business needs.
· A creative mindset – and the ability to approach a problem creatively.
· Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
· A meticulous approach to work.
· Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems.
