An Associate / Assistant Professor of Environmental and Molecular Epidemiology at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is expected to contribute to the development of research and teaching at the School. He/she is expected to undertake high quality internationally leading research in the area of environmental and molecular epidemiology within the Population/Global Health Research Programme, in line with the overarching research strategy of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, in addition to any other duties as assigned by the Vice Dean, Research and Dean.
Key Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
• The appointee will be expected to undertake high quality research in the area of environmental and molecular epidemiology, in line with the research strategy of the School and in conjunction with other recent appointments, obtain research funding and supervise research staff and students.
• The appointee will be expected to develop an interdisciplinary environmental and molecular epidemiology group with primary research interests in using large population cohorts to identify the risk factors that lead to complex diseases in humans, with a particular emphasis on ageing and age-related diseases.
• The appointee is expected to undertake teaching and educational responsibilities for the training of medical students and postgraduate research students. Teaching methods will include extensive use of team-based learning and e-learning.
• The appointee is expected to contribute to integration of the science relating to environmental and molecular epidemiology into the MBBS curriculum and to ensure the delivery of excellence in these areas, including the team-based delivery of the curriculum.
