Job Summary:
The Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales inputs. This role works closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that demand plans align with business objectives and support optimal inventory levels and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using statistical methods and inputs from Sales and Marketing teams.
- Incorporate marketing business strategies, product launches, and market intelligence into demand forecasts.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to gather input and ensure alignment on demand forecasts.
- Communicate demand forecasts and updates to Material Planning, Procurement and Production teams to achieve optimal material/production/shipment execution.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze demand data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain demand planning performance metrics and provide regular reports to management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in demand planning.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the demand planning process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of demand planning principles and statistical forecasting methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
