Our client is looking for a Vessel IT Support Engineer, please preview the job reeponsibilities and requirements mentioned below:
Functions and Responsibilities: -
• Ensure that Company’s IT Policy is updated and adhered to.
• Provide day to day IT support to end-users within the company.
• Provide IT support for Vessels via remote tools or vessel visit if required.
• Support and ensure normal IT server operations within the company and vessels.
• Maintain and update Office Hardware inventory
• Administer Company's Marine ERP’s.
• Ensure that backup and replication is done for ERP's and office servers
• Collaborate with other Business Units on new technological needs or expand uses for existing technologies to increase functionality or efficiency if required.
• Arrange or conduct IT training for new users or technologies.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers when required.
• Maintain/create user documentation and training materials.
• Actively explore and deploy new software/hardware, unit standards, policies and procedures and effectively manages to achieve them when required.
• Other work as assigned by superiors from time to time.
Requirements (Qualification, knowledge, skills and abilities):
• Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support in a shipping Company is a must.
• Good team player and ability to work independently with initiative.
• Good communication skills.
• Good command of both verbal and written English
• Able to manage multiple projects/proposals
• Basic SQL Knowledge to run/apply queries.
• Experience of working on an ERP Software will an added advantage.
