Job Description

1. Tile Installation:

• Measure and cut tiles to fit specified areas, ensuring accurate and precise cuts.
• Apply adhesive to surfaces and place tiles according to design plans and patterns.
• Use grout to fill gaps between tiles and ensure a smooth, even finish.

2. Surface Preparation:

• Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning, leveling, and repairing any imperfections.
• Ensure that surfaces are properly prepared and primed to ensure tile adhesion and durability.

3. Design and Layout:

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and design plans to determine the layout and design of tile patterns.
• Plan and execute tile layouts to achieve desired aesthetics and functionality.

4. Quality Control:

• Inspect and measure completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
• Address and correct any issues or imperfections in the tile installation.

5. Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on existing tile installations, including replacing damaged tiles and re-grouting.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the tiling process.

6. Safety and Compliance:

• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adhere to building codes and regulations related to tile installation.

Requirements

1. Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require vocational training or certification in tiling.
• On-the-job training or apprenticeships may be required for entry-level positions.

2. Experience:

• Previous experience in tiling or related construction work is often required. Entry-level positions may offer training for less experienced candidates.

3. Skills:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using tiling tools and equipment, such as tile cutters, grout floats, and trowels.
