Motor Service Engineer/Supervisor

Purpose and Scope:

The Motor Service Supervisor oversees the complete overhaul process of electric motors, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating overhaul activities, and ensuring an efficient workflow to meet project deadlines.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supervision: Lead and oversee a team of technicians in dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling electric motors. Perform tasks such as AC slip ring rotor rewinding and AC high voltage stator rewinding (Form coil).
• Quality Control: Ensure that all overhaul processes adhere to established quality standards and safety regulations.
• Scheduling: Develop and manage schedules for motor overhaul projects to ensure timely task completion.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and guidance to the team, addressing complex issues during the overhaul process. Competent in rewinding both AC and DC motors.
• Resource Management: Oversee the procurement and utilization of tools, equipment, and materials needed for overhaul projects.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of overhaul activities, including inspection reports, repair logs, and quality assurance documents. Ensure timely submission of service reports to customers.
• Training: Conduct training sessions for technicians on best practices for motor overhaul and maintenance.
• Customer Liaison: Communicate with superiors and clients to provide job progress updates and address any concerns or requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Extensive experience in motor maintenance and overhaul, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in motor overhaul and repair are advantageous.
• Licensing: Preferably holds a valid Class-3 driving license.
• Availability: Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Skills and Competencies:

• Leadership: Strong supervisory and team management skills to effectively lead a team of technicians.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of electric motor systems and overhaul procedures. Hands-on experience in rewinding both AC and DC motors.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure timely project completion.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in overseeing overhaul activities.
• Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to motor overhaul and field servicing, including risk assessment.
