The Regional Education Manager (REM) role is to strategically build brand advocacy on The Macallan across Asia Pacific. The REM will lead a regional community of Brand Ambassadors and Brand Specialists in The Macallan’s key cities.
This key leadership role will report to the APAC Regional Marketing Director and will also be part of the Global Education Leadership Team, led by the Head of Advocacy in Scotland.
Job Description
- Define and develop the APAC Regional Advocacy Strategy and Annual Roadmap in line with the global ambition.
- Lead The Macallan Brand Ambassadors’ and Specialists’ network in key cities, supporting the education transformation strategy
- Review annually the regional structure for The Macallan advocacy community, clearly defining the roles, responsibilities, behaviors, and focus cities to support brand objectives.
- Collaborate with The Global Head of Education & Storytelling to lead the development and execution of new brand educational tools that highlight the incomparable craftsmanship and creativity of The Macallan.
- Ensure advocacy team are delivering consistent and meaningful storytelling and elevated experiences.
- Work with the Brand Ambassadors to deliver training for internal teams: sales, marketing and private clienteling.
- Build a long-term vision for enhancing team growth and performance including recruitment strategy, learning and development and performance management.
- Assess, coach and mentor the education community to ensure knowledge, skills and behaviors are aligned to the education vision, including media training.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in either wines and spirits, or a related luxury field (ie hospitality, or luxury cosmetics)
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective educational programming.
- A strategic mindset and proven leadership skills.
- Experience of leading and managing high performing teams. Ability to inspire, motivate and coach others, whilst also building and fostering a team-focused culture.
- Strong resilience and expert influencing skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills – ability to network well.
- A passion for engaging people in a commercial and brand environment.
- High level attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in execution.
- Media savvy – comfortable to host and present to key media titles.
- Educated to degree level.
- Languages: English (fluent), Mandarin (is a plus)
