Associate General Counsel, APAC & Middle East Africa

We currently have a great opportunity for an Associate General Counsel, APAC & Middle East Africa to join our global legal team! As an Associate General Counsel based in our Singapore office, you will support our operations in the Sprinklr Growth Markets theatre (which currently includes India, Japan, China, APAC, Australia, New Zealand and the MEA regions). You will work closely with Sprinklr’s global legal team as well as local field leadership.



As Associate General Counsel based in our Singapore office, you will support our operations in the Sprinklr Growth Markets theatre (which currently includes India, Japan, China, APAC, Australia, New Zealand and the MEA regions). You will work closely with Sprinklr’s global legal team as well as local field leadership.

• You will manage, draft and negotiate all forms of company contracts, including but not limited to NDA’s, SaaS Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Partner Agreements, Customer Policy Documents, Security and Regulatory Compliance Requirements, Request for Proposals, Tender Contracts and Terms, Novation Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, Vendor Forms across the territories that you oversee and manage.

• You will report to the VP, Legal or similar role, of the Company in performing your duties and will closely work with them in implementing legal/compliance related initiatives in the territories you oversee and manage.

• You will develop and implement standard templates, forms and processes.

• You will manage a team of legal counsels reporting to you directly for your territories.

• You will work cross functionally and advise on legal matters to avoid risks and exposure for the business and company from time to time.

• You are expected to be an independent decision-maker on matters pertaining to your function for the territories you manage.

• You need to be solution minded in approaching problems and must have the ability to work under pressure.

• You must also be capable in crisis management in line with company policies and directives.

• You must be able to advise internal and external stakeholders on privacy matters impacting the business with internal and external support.

• You must be able to assist the Legal Leadership team with strategic initiatives impacting your territories.

• You must be the gatekeeper of legal and compliance matters in the territories you manage.

• You will partner with Business teams to negotiate Sprinklr positions and policies with Customers and Partners.

• You will provide training to the sales, success, operations and services teams on processes, compliance and new legislation to empower stakeholders to better understand risk and exposures for the Company.

• You will advise sales executives and management regarding contractual obligations and interpret terms and conditions to avoid risks and remove impediments in achieving business outcomes.

• You will work with external law firms to assist business teams with required guidance, translation and support they need to achieve business outcomes.

• For M&A activity, you will perform due diligence and integration of acquisition targets in coordination with other departments.

• You will assist in doing risk assessment of new territories where business team would want to expand their footprints.

• You will advise different teams all across the company on mitigating legal risks and send letters as and when necessary to enforce legal contracts and recover payments and dues.

• You will work with services and engineering teams to avoid risks and penalties from Customers.

• You will handle other project-based work within the scope of the legal department responsibilities on as-needed basis.


Requirements

• Law Degree from accredited Law School.

• Current and Active license to practice law in the APAC region.

• You have at least seven (7) years’ experience as a corporate attorney providing legal advice and negotiating agreements in a software/technology/start-up environment, preferably with an international company.

• You have at least three (3) years’ experience managing one or more attorneys or legal professionals.

• You have knowledge of and experience working with global Privacy Laws.

• You are able to demonstrate success working with sales teams in customer negotiations and the ability to manage all legal aspects in the APAC and MEA region as the first point of contact.

• You have an in-depth understanding of contract law and software contract requirements and strong skills in negotiating SaaS agreements.

• You must have excellent organizational skills and be a strong written and verbal communicator, with great attention to detail, common sense and a sense of humour.

• You are extremely customer-service oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills and you are able to build strong working relationships with various lines of business and to put yourself in the shoes of those you are advising.

• You will have the ability to learn quickly and positively contribute to the team upon your start, you will need to be able to work independently in a constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous and complex environment.

• This is a fast-paced environment and being able to work at incredible speed and with focus is a must for this role, you must be able to prioritize responsibilities to manage a large work load with very tight timelines.

• Fluency in English is required.
