Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies of wealth management solutions to penetrate new markets and expand existing client relationships
  • Identify and target potential clients, including EAMs, Family Offices, Trust, Private Banking and other financial institutions.
  • Achieve sales targets for wealth management solutions through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals.
  • Identify cross-sales and client referral revenue opportunities for other Whale solutions.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at wealth management firms/family offices/financial services firms/banks
  • Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Handle client contracting, onboarding and invoicing in a professional manner
  • Address client inquiries and concerns effectively, provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Product Knowledge and Demonstration:

  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations to showcase the benefits and capabilities of our solutions, and negotiations to close deals
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, to develop strategies to differentiate our offerings
  • Provide feedback to the product development team based on client interactions and market insights.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, business solutions, product, and customer support, to ensure a seamless sales process.
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales pipelines, sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to management.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B solution/software/SaaS sales/business development, preferably within the banking or financial technology industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and revenue growth.

Technical Skills:

  • Good understanding of wealth management, data management, trading & execution in the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of banking operations and regulatory requirements, preferably Singapore MAS, HK SFC and Dubai DFSA.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Client-centric, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with wealth management markets, prior experiences in Wealth Management/Private Banking/EAM will be a strong bonus
  • Networks/contacts with family offices, wealth management firms, financial services firms and banks will be highly desired
