Main responsibilities:
- Keep abreast with new products and consumer trends in the market
- Perform new product development (NPD) from conceptualisation to commercialization, including ingredient sourcing, laboratory and kitchen trials, conducting sensory evaluations and overseeing production trial
- Develop recipes at the kitchen level, then scale up for production trials and eventually for full commercial-scale manufacturing
- Ensure all NPD and processes are developed within the set timelines to meet the new product launch date.
- Evaluate and select suitable raw materials to be used for new product development
- Conduct shelf life studies and stability tests on new products
- Prepare product costing based on ingredients and manufacturing costs
- Provide training and transfer of technology to QA/QC and Production
- Maintain proper documentation to support costing, labeling, scale-up and production of new and existing products
- Collaborate with Commercial team and Regional Account Managers to understand customers’ and collaborating partners requirements and assist in troubleshooting technical issues when required
- Work closely with the Marketing, Production, Compliance, and QA teams to provide technical product information within the set timeline.
- Knowledge and experience in the BRCGS documentation and audit would be an advantage
Knowledge and skills
- Experience in sauce and paste formulation would be an advantage
- Raw material knowledge in snacks, sauce and paste application and processing requirements
