Job Summary

The Small Business Clients segment in SME Banking within Standard Chartered Bank aims to provide companies in Singapore with sales turnover of up to US$25m a suite of products to meet their financing, transactional and protection requirements.

As a Portfolio Sales Manager, you will be expected to actively engage and cross-sell to the Small Business Clients accounts in your portfolio to increase the Products Per Client (PPC) to maximise the clients’ affinity to the bank.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Engage existing portfolio clients to cross-sell products including acquisition of Operating Accounts & Deposits, Wealth Solutions referrals (Bancassurance, Foreign Exchange, Investments), Straight2Bank sign-ups and activation, and referrals of loans products (including Business Instalment Loans, Business Property Loans)

· Actively participate in relevant Sales campaigns for client engagements

· Assist in the periodic reviews of accounts where necessary

· Ensure that there you abide strictly within the code of conduct expected of you within the bank

· Support your colleagues to jointly strive to grow the business to outperform as a team

Performance Measures

· Ensure portfolio revenue growth via active cross-selling of products, which includes revenue generated from digital channels such as S2B, Operating Account (OPAC), FX revenue etc.

· Ensure quality calls are made for concept-selling to create clients’ awareness

· Number of successful referrals made

· Ensure successful Wealth Solutions referrals

· No substantiated complaints or regulatory breaches

Skills and Experience

Regulatory & Business Conduct

· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Tertiary education
  • 2 plus years of relevant working experience in a direct B2B or B2C sales environment
  • Must be comfortable to perform in a tele-sales environment.
  • Familiar with basic mortgage financing principles.
  • Familiar with basic working capital financing cycle

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Familiar with customer due diligence processes including FATCA adherence.
  • Knowledge of competitive environment in order to position Bank’s products appropriately.
  • Familiar with basic mortgage financing principles including TDSR framework and applications.
  • Familiar with basic working capital financing cycle and products for operating entities.
  • Keen negotiation and closing skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to determine and satisfy client needs and maintain a partnering relationship during engagements; includes influencing, communicating, presenting, facilitating, managing and developing others.
  • Knowledge of organizational strategies, tools and techniques for understanding the needs of customers; ability to utilize these to create additional sales.
