Location: Yuhua Primary School, 158 Jurong East Street 24, Singapore 609558

Contract Duration:

  • Base Period: 9 September 2024 – 15 November 2024 (10 weeks)
  • Option Period: 2 January 2025 – 21 November 2025 (40 weeks)

Working Hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 10 am to 4.30 pm (inclusive of a half-hour meal break)
  • Note: Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and scheduled school holidays (e.g., Youth Day, Teachers’ Day, and Children’s Day).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support:Provide mentorship, counseling, and guidance to identified HNS in collaboration with the HOD, teachers, school counselors, and other staff members.
    Support subject teachers during specific lessons to monitor and enhance the academic and behavioral progress of HNS.
    Facilitate group discussions, after-school workshops, or other activities aimed at addressing the unique needs of the HNS.
  • Program Development:Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs tailored to the needs of HNS.
    Continuously track and monitor the progress of the students, making necessary adjustments to interventions to ensure their success.
  • Administrative Support:Assist with administrative duties related to the well-being of HNS.
    Participate in ad-hoc events or activities planned for the students, as assigned by the HOD, Principal, or Vice-Principal.
    Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students and their families.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Education:Must be registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE).
    Counseling qualifications and certifications from a recognized institution are mandatory.
  • Experience:Prior experience working with vulnerable and at-risk youth in a school and/or community setting is required.
    Proven ability to work successfully with at-risk students, demonstrating resilience, empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to their success.
  • Skills:Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the students and school community.
    Ability to accommodate flexibility in working hours as required by school needs.
