National Men’s Artistic Junior Coach (Part time)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Junior Coach to join our team. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring coach to support the National MAG coaches while gaining hands-on experience in a high-performance environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to developing young gymnasts and eager to learn from experienced coaches.

1. COACHING


· Assist National Coaches: Support the National MAG coaches in implementing training programmes, ensuring gymnasts are progressing according to the high-performance pathway.


· Athlete Development: Work with gymnasts to develop their technical skills, strength, flexibility, and overall performance in MAG disciplines.


· Training Sessions: Assist in planning and conducting training sessions, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and routine execution.


· Monitoring Progress: Track and report on gymnasts' progress, providing feedback to both athletes and the National coaching team.


· Competition Preparation: Assist in preparing athletes for competitions, including routine refinement, mental preparation, and logistical support.


· Mentorship: Take advantage of mentoring opportunities from National coaches to enhance your coaching skills and understanding of high-performance gymnastics.


· Health and Safety: Ensure that all training sessions adhere to safety guidelines, and promote a safe and positive training environment.


· Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including maintaining athlete records, organising equipment, and coordinating logistics for training and competitions.


2. CODE OF ETHICS

· To act in the best interests of SG at all times and avoid any interest, activity or relationship that conflicts with the interest of SG.

· Work together harmoniously and productively with other National Coaches.

· Respect relationship boundaries with various stakeholders (e.g. gymnasts, parents etc.) and maintain impartiality.

· Abide by SG’s Child Safe Commitment Statement.


SKILL SETS REQUIRED

Other Required Skills and Knowledge

· Coaching Experience:Previous experience in coaching gymnastics, ideally with a focus on competitive Men's Artistic Gymnastics, is preferred


· Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding of MAG disciplines and techniques. Willingness to learn and adapt to the high-performance coaching environment.


· Passion for Gymnastics:A genuine passion for gymnastics and a commitment to developing young athletes to their full potential.


· Communication Skills:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and connect with gymnasts of all levels.


· Team Player:Ability to work effectively within a team, taking direction from senior coaches while contributing your ideas and energy.


· Certifications: SG Intermediate coaching qualification, or higher are a plus. Willingness to pursue further certifications is encouraged.


· First Aid Certification:A valid First Aid certification is required.


A good level of administration skills and proficient computer skills (e.g. email, Skype, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google documents, online meeting/conference platforms etc.).
