Job Description:
- Planning and preparing meals for the crew based on dietary requirements and available provisions.
- Managing food inventory and ordering supplies to ensure an adequate stock of ingredients.
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses.
- Cleaning and maintaining the galley (kitchen) area to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Accommoda ng special dietary needs or preferences of crew members.
- Collabora ng with other crew members to coordinate meal schedules and ensure mely service.
Requirements:
- Basic education requirements.
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a maritime or institutional setting.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of dishes, including knowledge of different cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work long hours, including standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the vessel's schedule.
