The Manager of Production Control is a pivotal role within our organization, seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related industry. This position is crucial in ensuring efficient production planning and control, optimizing inventory management, and maintaining seamless operations. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to lead a team, implement process improvements, and effectively manage ERP systems. Strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in project management are essential for success in this role.
Essential Responsibilities:
1) Production Planning and Control:
- Plan and develop production schedules considering all aspects of production, including inventory management, to prevent shortages, and excesses, and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor raw material procurement, inventory management, and usage control to meet business objectives.
2) Work-in-Progress (WIP) Management:
- Oversee WIP movement in the production cycle to ensure continuous operations and optimize workflow.
3) Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement process improvements for inventory, manufacturing, and production control systems to enhance efficiency and meet business objectives.
4) Change Order and Customer Order Management:
- Review change orders and ensure their proper execution to meet evolving production requirements.
- Negotiate job orders with customers based on equipment capacity and material availability.
5) Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, coach, and develop the team to achieve department goals.
6) Problem Solving and Compliance:
- Investigate production control issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Skills and Competencies Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience in managing a team within a manufacturing organization is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in semiconductor production planning and control are highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential.
- Experience with ERP systems, including SAP, Oracle, and MS Dynamics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
