We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Research Strategist - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Research Strategist - C13) based in Singapore. In this role, you’re expected to:
Job Purpose:
- Develop and maintain global battery metals (most notably, lithium), bulk commodities (steel, iron ore, coking coal, manganese ore etc) commodity supply and demand models and other analytical tools, in Singapore, one of the largest prospective global trading hubs for iron ore and lithium.
- Help to extend research on commodities with a particular focus on the battery metal and bulk commodity markets, and related global automotive and property markets.
- Work with research colleagues in commodities, fixed income strategy, economics and equities research to promote the role of commodities in Citi’s markets and banking franchises and with sales, trading, and other divisions.
- Interact with clients internal and external as requested by Sales & Trading
- Develop relationships with Citi clients
- Address client requests
- Engage in Citi’s broader corporate objectives, such as recruitment and training of junior analysts and associates
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Proven interest in commodities markets, with 5 years or more of relevant experience
- Demonstrate an extraordinary depth and breadth of knowledge in the battery metal and bulk commodity markets, and global automotive and property markets
- Work experience or knowledge of battery metals, bulk commodity, and related automotive, property markets
- An understanding of how buy-side clients operate
Education:
- Advanced graduate degree and business or economics bachelor's degree preferred
- Deep experience and knowledge of financial markets, especially the steel, bulk, and battery metal and automotive markets
Skills and Competencies:
- Accuracy with a great attention to detail
- Persistence to follow up until an answer has been found
- Methodical approach, strong organisational capabilities
- Ability to work in and for a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively within a high volume / high pressure environment
